Cosmic Crit’s “Mayhem May” Challenge

With all the science and magic available in Starfinder, battlefields are tapestries of chaos and destruction. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement! Over the last several months, you’ve helped us populate our corner of the Starfinder universe with horrific monsters, sweet lil’ skittermanders, multi-dimensional NPCs and more. Now’s your chance to create the tools to destroy them all.

Bring the Mayhem

This month we challenge our fans to come up with some serious means of mayhem in the form of weapons. We want to see guns, blades, gloves, rockets, and anything else that creates havoc whenever it is unleashed on the enemy.

These weapons shouldn’t just be about random destruction but should have a creativity in both their ability to deal damage and in their special abilities. Perhaps your weapon shoots drills that can go through cover? Or maybe a Doshko that causes anything it hits to random change size categories every round? Whatever it is, it should be madness and mayhem personified in a weapon.

Entry Guidelines

Send an email to cosmiccrit@gmail.com with your submission with the following:

Give Your Weapon a Name – Legendary weapons have legendary names. We want your creation to be remember throughout the galaxy and have a name that is recognized and fear.

Create a Description – What does your weapon look like? What is the shape and color? How does it feel when a character holds it? What materials were used to create it? Think of not only the physical description but also the functional description. If your knife has a built in poison ability then explain how the the knife draws the poison to the blade. If your weapon uses ammo, describe that too. How is it made? Where is it made? What is the capacity and how many charges does a single shot use up?  

Make the Stats – Now it is time to get to the numbers. Here is where we get to see the raw mechanical destructive capabilities of your weapon. Give us the full stats of your weapon, including (where applicable)…

• Weapon Level
• Price
• Amount and Type of Damage
• Range
• Critical Hit Effect
• Ammunition type, capacity, and usage
• Bulk
• Special Properties

Prizes

At the end of the month, the Crew will vote, and the top three submissions will each receive a Paizo PDF Prize!

Guidelines for Submitting

• By submitting to this challenge, you give us the right to use your submitted work/piece on Cosmic Crit and distribute it for free. We will also need to edit and balance these in relation to other entries.
• To receive a gift for your selected submission, you must have an active Paizo account and provide that  to us after we use your submission on the show. Please include how you would like to be contacted and credited for your winning submission. Submission can be sent to us via our gmail account, cosmiccrit@gmail.com.
• You can submit multiple times, but if we use 10 of your submissions, you still only get a single gift.
• Please don’t submit anything offensive, inappropriate for a general audience or distasteful. Keep it PG-13.
